They are offering "Merrill 41: Pandemics and Planetary Health” again this UCSC Summer Session 2024.

MERR 41 is online, asynchronous this Summer Session 2 (July 29 - August 30, 2024) and enrollment is open to all UCSC students. 

Merrill 41 is a 5-unit course that fulfills GE: PE-H, offered in the summer and winter terms. In this seminar, we shine light on past and emerging health events to gain better understanding of pandemics and epidemics around the world. Students share generative thought and insights from case studies and conceptualize preventive approaches to future pandemics from global, public and planetary health perspectives. 

This is a valuable course for those interested in: global and community health, public health, environmental health, medicine, epidemiology, biology, international policy, public service and administration, health structures and systems, health equity, social justice, bioethics, sociology, social science research, professional health fields, etc.
