 Dear Slugs,

The Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Cognitive Science is seeking motivated students interested in joining our PhD Program. Our graduate program trains a new generation of cognitive scientists who can meld multiple existing disciplines into a genuinely integrated science of the mind and brain.  Applications are due December 1.

Our program offers a breadth and depth of training unlike that of departments in allied disciplines because 100% of graduate training can be focused on cognition. Our alumni are placed into competitive positions in both traditional disciplinary departments at universities and in industry.

Admitted students receive a five-year package of full funding that covers tuition; health, dental and vision insurance; a competitive 12-month stipend; and an annual travel/research allowance.

Application Mentoring Program:

We also invite applicants to register for our application mentoring program. Prospective students can establish a 1:1 connection with a current PhD student or postdoctoral researcher here in the Johns Hopkins Cognitive Science program. The program includes email connection with a grad student or postdoc and a review of the applicant’s Statement of Purpose.

Early registration is recommended as space is limited and not guaranteed. App mentoring requests are due by November 15, 2025.

Find out more about our program, the app mentoring program, and how to apply via the link below:
