2026-2027 MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program: Open to Undocumented Law School Students

The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. Awards range from $2,000 to $10,000 and are geared towards supporting “law students who seek to further MALDEF’s mission of advancing the civil rights of the Latino community in the United States.” This opportunity is open to all law school students in the United States who are currently enrolled full-time.

Here are the required application materials:

  • “MALDEF law school scholarship application form, including the Financial Statement Form completed by the applicant’s law school.
  • Current resume
  • Personal statement up to 500 words, double-spaced.
  • Career plans statement up to 100 words.
  • One letter of recommendation.
  • Transcripts for law school.”

The deadline to apply is May 15, 2026
