Music Department Summer Courses

Dear Students,

Utilizing the Summer Session is one way to get ahead or stay on track. Please see the image attached for the music courses available this summer, if you would like to see the full list of music classes feel free to visit summer.ucsc.edu.

• Many of our courses carry GE codes, and our theory courses (MUSC 20A and 14) are a great way for students to learn the basics of music theory and/or get a head start on the academic year theory sequence. Most of our courses are open to all, and all can be added with permission by the instructor.

• All students (in and out-of-state) pay the same summer tuition rate, and this summer, UCSC Pay for Only 10 credits.

•  If a student needs to take our Theory Placement Exam to place into a course, they can find that information here, and can do so at any time asynchronously.

• Learn more about summer financial aid eligibility - use the grant calculator to get a summer aid estimate. Financial aid is available for eligible students through loans, Summer Pell Grants, and the University Grant.

• The summer housing application is open, and the priority deadline is May 11.
