PSI CHI Membership Applications are OPEN!! They will close on April 3rd (Friday) at 11:59PM.
Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology. They have over 1000 chapters at American and international universities and colleges. The Psi Chi Chapter at UCSC opens its application at the start of each quarter to welcome new members. Joining the UCSC chapter gives students opportunities to attend a variety of events, such as professional speaker events, career/skill workshops, and community events to network with peers. The qualifications to be accepted as a member of Psi Chi are as follows:
1. Must be a declared major in Psychology and/or Cognitive Science
2. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for Psychology and Cognitive Science courses (Find out your major GPA here)
3. Must have a minimum 3.6 cumulative GPA (all coursework)
4. Must have completed at least 15 quarter units (~3 courses at UCSC) of courses in the Psychology Department (equivalent to 9 semester units). These courses can be identified on your transcript by the "PSYC" course code.
***If you are a transfer student or have AP credits from high school, you may count this coursework alongside your UCSC coursework to reach a total of 15 quarter units/9 semester units
***International Psi Chi posits that new members should have completed 3 semesters (for us, this is 3 quarters) of full-time college coursework. This requirement for the UCSC chapter is meant to meet this international requirement, as most UCSC psychology students do not complete 15 PSYC units until well into their second year.

***It is important that you double-check the email you use for the International application to ensure no typos!!!
2. Complete the Psi Chi Chapter Application: https://forms.gle/SGcJiuufWvv3H85H6
(Be sure to be signed in with your UCSC account)
3. Wait to hear back from us as to whether you have been accepted
4. Submit your one-time membership fee of $25 and a $60 fee to Psi Chi International (they will send an email through which you will find a payment link). It is important that you double-check the email you use for the International application to ensure no typos.
Both the General and Chapter Applications are due on FRIDAY, APRIL 3RD. Please complete BOTH applications to be considered for membership.
