UCSC Basic Needs is calling for student submissions for a cookbook focused on cultural relevance, low-cost cooking, and local and seasonal organic produce. If you have a recipe that falls under these categories, please submit it to our cookbook! Any student that submits a recipe that is included in the cookbook will receive a guaranteed copy of the cookbook. We will be printing and distributing the cookbook in Spring 2026, so submissions are due March 1.
We are also seeking a student-designed cover! It'll look great on your portfolio, and as an added benefit, if we pick your cover, you'll get a guaranteed copy, farmers market tokens, and some basic needs swag. Dimensions, suggestions and logistics are on the google form. Cover submissions are due March 15.
