Our 15-month MA program prepares students for careers providing clinical prevention and intervention services to children and adolescents and serves as a pathway to becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington.
Students are trained in the use of evidence-based treatment programs for improving children’s mental health outcomes, and through their
practicum (clinical internship) they gain real-world experience observing and practicing treatment models in local clinical mental health settings. Learning and training under nationally recognized experts in child psychology affiliated with our Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and our Center for Child & Family Well-Being, our program graduates go on to work in a wide range of settings including schools, community organizations, and health care facilities.
