Student Health Outreach & Promotion (SHOP), is an office part of UCSC Student Health Services dedicated to providing students with a safe, non-judgmental space to learn about health and wellness. SHOP offers education, resources, and support on topics including alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, mental health, and general wellness concerns relevant to college students. Our services are available to all UCSC students—both undergraduate and graduate—regardless of UCSHIP enrollment.
SHOP is excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for peer educators for the 2026-2027 school year! We are hiring for the following positions:
Party Safe Peer Educator (Alcohol and other drugs)
Slug Love Peer Educator (Sexual and reproductive health)
SHOP Talk Peer Educator (Mental health/wellbeing promotion)
Cove Peer Recovery Coach (Recovery support and community building)
Front Desk Office Assistant [please note, we only have 1 spot open]
As a Peer Educator, you will work up to 10 hours a week in collaboration with your team and SHOP professional staff to bring health information to your peers at UCSC. We are looking for students who are passionate about health, wellbeing, and harm reduction!
