Hello UCSC Undergraduates!

This is a great year to apply to a teaching credential program! There is a tremendous need for teachers in California, and teaching is a career where you can make a difference in the lives of hundreds of youth.

If you currently receive a Cal Grant, you can get a 5th year of funding ($12,570 or $14,242, see attached flyer) if you go from your undergraduate program into a teaching credential program!

Also, California has a limited-time offer for a Golden State Teaching Grant up to $20,000 if you want to become a math, science, or elementary school (multiple subjects) teacher. You can get information here

Together these two grants will pay for most of the cost of getting a teaching credential here at UCSC.

Information on applying to our 12-month program, July to July, is here. In just 12 months you can obtain both a California teaching credential and a master's degree in education. The application window is open now and the deadline is January 31st.

Please email the Director, Soleste Hilberg, sol...@ucsc.edu, or Program Coordinator Esperanza Zamora, zam...@ucsc.edu, if you have questions about the UCSC Master of Arts and Credential Program.
