The Center for Public Philosophy runs an event called the Night of Ideas annually, spearheaded by Dr. Jeanne Proust. We think that our event might be of interest to students from the Psychology and Cognitive Science department, as one of the keynote speakers is a cognitive scientist researcher — Dr. Iris Oved. She runs a lab in SF called the Paradox Lab (ParadoxLab.org). Dr. Oved specializes in human learning and development and robot learning and development. Her speech will explore how cognition, linguistics, and technology relate to the authenticity of connection. This is a great opportunity to network with a cognitive scientist outside of UCSC and learn about cognitive science applications!
