Dear Openram team,

I hope this email finds you well!
I'm a PhD student in electronic engineering and I am experimenting to use the OpenRAM compiler. But I am having some issues to generate a macro of 4kB, in particular, it takes forever to generate it. This is the screen of the log.
As you can see, it is stacked after the routing, with top I can see the process on my server and I see it's running  magic from 42 hours.

I don't know why it takes so much time, I saw on your github that it should take few minutes.

Just to give you more context, the configuration is the one available in the examples, the command I run is:

python3 $OPENRAM_HOME/../sram_compiler.py macros/sram_configs/sky130_sram_2kbyte_1rw_32x512_8.py

BR,

Luigi

Hi Luigi,

It finished routing but is now doing DRC and/or extraction. This is limited by the algorithm in Magic. My best suggestion is to have enough memory and use a fast computer.

Matt
