Cognos Upgrade This Sunday (12/16/2024) from 6:00pm - 9:00pm

 

Cognos users,

 

We will be upgrading Cognos from version 11.2.3 to 12.0.3 this Sunday beginning at 6pm. We are expecting this upgrade to take a little over 2 hours and Cognos will be unavailable during this window.

 

The upgrade will be transparent to end users, although we should see some stability improvements as a result of the upgrade.

 

For Cognos developers this upgrade contains some new features.

Cognos users,

We have been notified by IBM that the upgrade was unsuccessful, and they have reverted the changes. They are currently investigating the issue and the environment is back up and running on 11.2.3.

We will be postponing the upgrade to a later date in January. I will send out an update once a date has been solidified.

Happy New Year!

IBM identified the issue on their end, and we are ready to move forward with the Cognos 12 upgrade. IBM will be deploying the upgrade this Sunday, 1/12, at 6pm. We are estimating about a 2 hour downtime and Cognos will be unavailable during this time.

Please let me know if you have any question. I will provide updates Sunday night.

Cognos Downtime Tuesday (3/18/2025) from 8-9AM


Cognos users,

We will be working with IBM Tuesday morning (3/18) to apply a new SSL certificate to our Cognos environment. The work will begin at 8am and will require a restart of the environment, which should take about an hour. During this time, Cognos will be unavailable.

Please let me know if you have any question. I will provide an update once the restart is complete.
