New book announcement by Maria Zarimis: Στα χνάρια του Δαρβίνου

I am delighted to announce the publication (December 2025) of my new book Στα χνάρια του Δαρβίνου: πολιτισμικές οπτικές για την εξελικτική θεωρία στην Ελλάδα (δεκ. 1880–δεκ. 1930), published by Πανεπιστημιακές Εκδόσεις Κρήτης (Crete University Press). This volume is a revised Greek edition of my 2015 monograph Darwin’s Footprint: Cultural Perspectives on Evolution in Greece (1880–1930s), originally published by Central European University Press.
The book examines the cultural reception of Darwinian thought in Greece, focusing on literature, religion, science, and broader intellectual debates from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century. The Greek edition has been thoughtfully revised and updated and makes this research accessible to a Greek-speaking readership.
