To the MGSA Community: this coming Saturday, April 18, in 103 Oxley Hall, a one-day workshop on Greek linguistics will take place. There will be papers on various topics having to do with Greek in some way: Greek dialect phonology, Greek in America, history
of Greek, and Greek in the Balkans, among others, as well as a celebration of the contribution to scholarship on Greek dialects made by Ohio nonagenarian John Kellis.
Attached you will find a final program and a poster (the poster has a preliminary program — the final program attached here is definitive).
And, if all this isn’t enough to lure you to Oxley on Saturday, eastern Mediterranean goodies will be provided for lunch.
There is no
registration fee and no formalities associated with attending. Please come if you are interested and stay for as little or as long as you like. If you can’t make it in person, it will also be accessible by Zoom — a link will be circulated later in the
week in advance of the Workshop.
We hope to see you there, in person or via Zoom!
