Event Announcement: "Fragments, Clues and Surprises: Writing Cavafy’s Life” - Nov. 28

I am pleased to share the announcement for an event we are organizing in Amsterdam on Friday, November 28, at 17:00 CET at the academic-cultural podium SPUI25, titled 

 Fragments, Clues, and Surprises in Literary Biographies: Writing Cavafy’s Life.

The event takes as its point of departure the publication of the new biography of C. P. Cavafy,  Alexandrian Sphinx, by Gregory Jusdanis and Peter Jeffreys.

Our main speaker will be Gregory Jusdanis, one of the authors of the biography, who will read selected passages from the book as well as poems by Cavafy. This will be followed by a conversation with Prof. Jusdanis and the Dutch biographer Koen Hilberdink on the process of writing literary biographies.
