Dear friends and colleagues,

The Modern Greek Program at UM is participating in the book launch for Literature's Refuge: Rewriting the Mediterranean Borderscape by Will Stroebel today (September 5th), at 6:30 p.m. at Literati Bookstore in Ann Arbor, MI.

In Professor Stroebel's words, "The book celebrates the resilience of refugee and diaspora voices after the fallout of the Greek-Turkish Population Exchange and the rise of modern borders."

Book presentations will be made by Professors Kristin Dickensen (Germanic Languages and Comparative Literature, Hadji Bakara (English), and myself. Several of our students will be reciting short selections of poetry from the book in Greek and Turkish.

If you live close by, please consider joining us.

All good wishes,
