I'll be presenting in the event "Research and Intellectual Property Law" that theHellenic Copyright Organization (HCO)andKnowledgeRights21program co-organize. The event has the support of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization and the Collective Management Organization for Literary Works in Greece, and it will serve as an important opportunity to explore the legal and other issues surrounding research, access to knowledge, and Open Science, and how these intersect with the field of intellectual property law. The panel of international speakers, which will be announced shortly (bear with the Greek August break, where time runs like mollasses) will cover a wide range of topics from the current state to impact; from the national perspective to the international context; from the cautious to the more visionary approaches. I will be presenting the results of a nation-wide survey on the attitudes and perceptions of Greek researchers about the legislative framework. The event will take place on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 09:30 to 16:00, at the Goethe-Institute Auditorium in Athens. https://lnkd.in/d3-ybVkv
Given the present situation where Mark Zuckerberg and other AI services are highjacking copyrighted materials wholesale without compensation this should be a concern to writers and publishers everywhere
