The award belongs to the editors and editorial teams (associate editors, book review editors, editorial boards), authors, reviewers, and publisher (Johns Hopkins University Press) of the past 44 years, who have produced two issues per year (87, going on 88) without fail since 1983, and to the MGSA leadership for its vision and support.
It is fitting that the JMGS has received this award alongside the journal BMGS (Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies). Both journals were honored with similar distinctions. Notably, the JMGS and BMGS have a parallel history, since the JMGS originally as a collaborative publishing venture with BMGS during its earliest years. You can read more about this history on the MGSA website.
