New Financial Statements Dashboard Now Available

Financial Management Support New Financial Statements Dashboard Now Available The Financial Management Support team is pleased to announce a new Financial Statements dashboard is now available in Decision Support. The new dashboard displays three financial reports that are prepared in compliance with the UC Systemwide Common Chart of Accounts (CCoA) and adhere to the systemwide presentation of financial statements. The Financial Statements dashboard can be accessed from ZotPortal. Look for the link in the KFS Decision Support portlet, listed under the General Ledger - Campus Reports heading.  The three new reports available from the dashboard are: ·         Statement of Net Position (SNP) Provides a snapshot of the university’s financial position at a point in time, including assets, liabilities, deferred inflows/outflows, and net position. Please Note: At the school or department level, the net position often provides an incomplete financial overview since most assets and liabilities are maintained centrally rather than being distributed across individual schools or departments under our current accounting framework. ·         Statement of Revenues, Expenses, and Changes in Net Position (SRECNP) Summarizes operating and non-operating revenues and expenses for a period, helping users track financial performance and changes in net position. ·         Operating Expense Note Displays operating expenses through both functional and natural categories, providing a valuable perspective on resource allocation that supports the university's primary objectives and identifies major expense factors. These reports utilize KFS general ledger data with balances derived from the current object code and account mapping in KFS. The financial line items shown on SNP and SRECNP can be expanded to detail the object code level, enabling users to see how KFS object codes roll up to the CCoA, which is used across the UC system. Drill-down is available in the Operating Expense Note to review the details of the operating expense balances that comprise the total.
