Dear WRF users,

I have 250 m simulations for a certain region, I would like to calculate the areal average of the precipitation variable (PREC_ACC_NC) in Python. Would anyone have any idea how to calculate it? I know that CDO can do this but I don't know if CDO accepts the model outputs directly.

Best regards

Dear Geraldo,

I calculated the area of each grid / cell of wrfout by following the area of the spherical triangle grid method.

If it works for you let me know, I will share the code.

with best regards,
D. Selvaraj
