Plotting WRF-NMM using wrfpython

Hi,

Has anybody tried plotting WRF-NMM (E-staggered, rotated lat-lon) output. I work with the Hurricane WRF (HWRF) model and was wondering whether this software was written keeping only ARW in mind.

Hi Biswas,

Like the NCL-WRF package, it currently only works with WRF-ARW.  I've only seen one HWRF file, and it was quite a bit different from WRF-ARW, so supporting it will probably take quite a bit of effort.  However, if you can extract the variables that you need, many of the raw computational routines would probably still work.  You would have to call them yourself instead of using the getvar function.  See http://wrf-python.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user_api/index.html#raw-diagnostic-routines for more information.
