Hello WRF Hydro,

I am running WRF Hydro for a small target domain (~200km x 200km) so I want to use gridded routing instead of reach based routing so that I get a more accurate assessment of fluxes along each stream rather than the same values across the entire reach. For the groundwater buckets, I want to use the user-defined mapping to map the catchments/basins onto the LSM grid in a weighted fashion so that the buckets are more accurate than the default behavior of just gridding the buckets to the LSM grid.

However I am unable to run the model with gridded routing with user defined mapping enabled. One of the NCAR researchers has also confirmed that user defined mapping is only available for Muskingum-Cunge Reach Based routing: https://groups.google.com/a/ucar.edu/g/wrf-hydro_users/c/QcMM16key88/m/45V7wTO_BgAJ

Is there a reason why this is not allowed? If not, is this something being worked on for a future version? I would like to use user defined mapping for my groundwater buckets, even for gridded routing, so that the buckets are more accurately defined.

Thanks!
Alfred
