Dear all,

I was wondering whether the Rwrfydro is still being updated? I tried using the package for visualizing my domain and channel network, however, there seem to be some error in the VisualizeDomain function. Particularly, I think with regards to using the google map as the basemap? It kept asking for an API key.

Here is the error I got when I tried running my script based on the rwrfhydro vignette.

Warning: bounding box given to google - spatial extent only approximate.

Thank you!

Hi Dani,
As stated on the web page https://ral.ucar.edu/projects/wrf_hydro/rwrfhydro "Rwrfhydro is currently minimally supported and rarely updated."
We are currently only minimally supporting 3 vignettes which can be found at the bottom of the web page https://ral.ucar.edu/projects/wrf_hydro/rwrfhydro. You will need to edit them to meet the needs of your research project.
Which vignette did you use?  Maybe other users have tried to use it with success?

Cheers,
Molly

Hi Molly,

I see. Thank you for the added information! I did use a rather old vignette for my script, the WRF Hydro Domain and Channel Visualization vignette from this link:

I believe it was used for WRF-Hydro V3.0 as apparent on the date it was published last 05 May 2015 by James McCreight. I figured this script would've worked for the V5 since it's just the inputs.

Many thanks,
Dani
