Dear all,
I am trying to map flood inundation area. Since WRF hydro uses overland flow routing and outputs surface head ponded water in RTOUT files.
So I am curious to know if we can use sfcheadsubrtvariable in RTOUT file to show flood inundation area.

Yes the sfcheadsubrt variable represents ponded water on the land surface. One thing to keep in mind is your spatial resolution. This variable may not represent actual "flood inundation" at coarser scales.
