Dear Users,

I have setup model for 2 distinct regions in India. One in Himalaya (very intricate terrain) and other is in southern part of India that also have hilly terrain but not as rugged as Himalaya.

The one for Himalayan region is giving me unbelievably small values for discharge. For the first year, it is even lesser than 1 cms. I discarded 3 years as spinup but still values are not up to the mark.

On the other hand, for another simulation discarding only 2 months is doing for me well.

I am wondering how could I figure out whats wrong with the first simulation.

I also tried to calibrate the model but I could find hardly any change.

Any suggestions please

Thanks for you comment

Hi Ankur,

I don't think that this is a spin up problem. You might want to check your forcing data. I suggest going back through your set up and turning on the namelist options one at a time until you have the model response that you expect. Guidance can be found in How to Build & Run WRF-Hydro in Standalone Mode and Implementation and Best Practices documents.

Best regards,
Molly
