Dear all,
I am trying to calibrate WRF-Hydro manually, already I run some tests with refkdt parameter modifications gaining quite good model responces. I moved to Fulldom.hires.nc file and RETDEPRTFAC parameter, and unfortunetely I don't see any sensitivity to this parameter (I have tried values 1,2,5,6,10). As this parameter is frequently used in calibration process, I am wondering why I don't get any response. I attach my hydro.namelist.

I would be really gratefull for any help.
Best regards,
Barbara

Hi Barbara:
RETDEPRTFAC is used by the overland routing scheme, so make sure you have that active. Also the units are a little funky on this parameter, so note that the multipliers can get quite large. The retention depth parameter value is initialized  at 0.001 mm (not sure why... this predates me), so your RETDEPRTFAC multiplier will be applied to this very small value. So you might test with much larger values (e.g., RETDEPRTFAC = 10000 will give you a retention depth of 10mm).

Thanks!
Aubrey
