Dear All,

I am trying to run the hydro.exe file but it is not reading the Fulldom_hires.nc file.
If anyone could help me to solve the error, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hydro.log file, and namelists are attached.

Thank you.

Aarti,

Can you post the Fulldom_hires and geo_em files? My first check will be to make sure the files are consistent.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your response.
I have shared a link because the file size is large.

Kevin,
Did you check the data?

Aarti,

Yes, I checked your geospatial input files. I don't see any issues with Fulldom_hires.nc. Why do you think that Fulldom_hires.nc is the issue? I saw in your hydro.log file that it is complaining about your LDASIN files, so that might be one place to look.
I did notice one issue; your GW_BASINS.nc file has very poorly defined and discontinuous groundwater basins. Perhaps you can try to swap these (attached) groundwater files into your configuration as a test?

Hi Kevin,

In hydro.log file, in line no. 217,220 & 223, it is showing failed to read the variable: CHANNELGRID, FLOWDIRECTION & LAKEGRID... that is why I thought maybe the error is associated with Fulldom_hires.nc
I have tried to run the wrf_hydro.exe file using GW files that you attached, but still, it is showing exactly the same error in hydro.log file. Please find the attached error file.
I have been struggling with this for the last 1month but still not getting the solution. Please help me out to run this.

Thank you.

Aarti,

The hydro.log file you sent earlier only had about 100 lines in it, so I could not (and still cannot) see the error you are referring to. It sounds like the issue is with the variables in your Fulldom_hires file, though I did not see anything that looked off. Perhaps we should try a clean set of routing grid files. Can you send me the input datasets you used for the WRF-Hydro GIS Pre-processing tool, as well as the log file that was generated when you ran that tool? I can try to re-create your domain files on my end and you can test them on your end.

Hi Kevin,

Please find the required data set.
I am also attaching the screenshot of hydro.log file.

I just want to know one thing, is there any mistake in the namelists (attached in previous email)?

Thanks

Aarti,

Thank you for the images from your log files. The image hydrolg3.png indicated the actual issue. The model crashed because it could not determine network topology for the cell with cell coordinate (12784, 7984). Your routing grid does not have dimensions that large. I looked at your hydro.namelist file and found where you specified an incorrect integer multiplier (AGGFACTRT = 16). This parameter needs to match the regridding factor that you used when generating the routing grids in the GIS Pre-processor. You used a regridding factor of 4 in the GIS pre-processor. I think that if you change AGGFACTRT to 4, you should get past this error.

Thank you,

Kevin

Kevin,

Thank you for your quick response.
Sorry by mistake I uploaded the wrong data file in previous link.
Please find the STATIONnew and DEM files in the given link

https://www.transfernow.net/dl/20231009uVyNeJM3

I have changed the AGGFACTRT to 4 and run the .exe file and still, the hydro.log file is showing an error (please see the attached screenshot).

Thank you.

Kevin,
I am trying it from scratch, I will let know if it works or shows any errors.

Thanks
