Hi everyone

I am confused about the file name of HRRR forecast files.
For example, does file name hrrr.t00z.wrfsfcf01.grib2 mean that this file contains the forecast at UTC time 01:00 generated at UTC time 00:00 . Am I right?

Thanks
Haowen Yue

Hi Haowen,

You can find this info on the NOAA NCEP Products Inventory site here: http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/products/hrrr/

It'll also point you to where to download the data.

Best,
Katelyn

Hi Katelyn

Thank you very much for the information.
I know that The University of Utah has a HRRR archive. However, the archive crashed once in the past so the data availability is limited.
Is there any other archives or the HRRR archive from Utah is the only one available now?

Thanks

Hi Haowen,

I don't know of any other publicly available archive for HRRR data aside from the private archive that was used to regenerate a large portion of the Utah one.

NCAR's Research Data Archive (https://rda.ucar.edu/) does contain some coarser resolution forecast, reanalysis, and reforecast datasets.

Best,
Katelyn
