Hello everyone,

I have successfully implemented the WRF model for daily weather forecasts. I am now working on installing and using WRF-Hydro to establish a coupled hydrological forecasting system for my study area (Burundi).

To proceed, I followed the guide titled "How to Install WRF-Hydro V5.1.1 Coupled WRF on CentOS 7". While I successfully installed the model and configured the WPS domain covering Burundi, I am facing challenges with the following steps:

  1. Downloading and using the necessary datasets for land use and hydrological geodata specific to WRF-Hydro (e.g., input flow data, terrain parameters, etc.).
  2. Identifying where and how to integrate these datasets into the model to initiate hydrological forecasting simulations.

The examples provided in the guide, including links to test case files such as the "Front Range CO Example Test Case," are not entirely applicable to my geographical domain.

I would greatly appreciate guidance on:

  • Appropriate sources for land use and hydrological geodata for Burundi.
  • The specific steps required to properly set up these datasets in WRF-Hydro for complete hydrological simulations.

I am happy to provide more technical details or background information if needed and remain available for any clarification.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance!
