Hello everyone,

I was processing the YYYYMMDD00.CHRTOUT_DOMAIN2 files  from WRF-Hydro simulations. I would like to know that do we have to multiply the scale_factor provided in the file attribute. However, the values in frxst_pts_out.txt and same point data in these files matches without any multiplication.

attributes in one of the files:

Attributes:

                       long_name      = 'River Flow'

                       units          = 'm3 s-1'

                       add_offset     = 0

                       scale_factor   = 0.1

                       _FillValue     = -99990

                       missing_value  = -99990

                       esri_pe_string = 'PROJCS["Sphere_Mercator",GEOGCS["GCS_Sphere",DATUM["D_Sphere",SPHEROID["Sphere",6370000.0,0.0]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Mercator"],PARAMETER["False_Easting",0.0],PARAMETER["False_Northing",0.0],PARAMETER["Central_Meridian",75.0],PARAMETER["Standard_Parallel_1",0.0],UNIT["Meter",1.0]]'

Amit,

What application are you using to access the netCDF data? Most clients will understand the add_offset and scale_value parameters and apply them when decoding the data.
