What does an Atmospheric Scientist do for us? The primary role of the Atmospheric Scientist is to support IPC’s weather needs while being mentored by more experienced IPC staff Atmospheric Scientists. The Atmospheric Scientist will utilize previously developed tools and techniques to provide specialized meteorological forecasts for use in stream flow forecasting, seasonal forecasting, renewable energy and load forecasts and fire forecasts, conduct weather modification operations, and participate in studies to address meteorology issues important to Idaho Power Company (IPC) business. The audience ranges from internal scientific staff, IPC senior management, public and private agencies, and the general public.
