Dear all,

I'm trying to use the Rscript provided in the WRF-Hydro website in generating spatially distributed soil. The documentation suggested that using this would be an easier method in calibrating the WRF-Hydro model. In this case, I was wondering whether manipulation on certain parameter values is done on the TBL files which will be used as inputs for the Rscript?

Thank you!

Hi Dani,

As far as I know, If you change the parameters in TBL file and then run the script to convert 2d files, then it is as good as you run without 2d files. You are supposed to change the 2d file to reflect spatial variability in parameters. This option is useful if you are running this model for multiple basins or a large basin having many sub-basins.

Everyone, Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you

Hi Ankur,

You're right! I just reread the description for the Rscript and the default parameter values can be manipulated after creating the 2d and 3d fields as you've said. Thank you for clearing that up! This is ultimately my goal in order to conduct model calibration appropriate for my study area.

Thank you,
Dani
