Dear all,

I am trying to use mozbc with CAM-Chem to generate boundary conditions for WRF-Chem.  CAM-Chem wiki page provides an example for mozbc.inp for mapping it to MOZART gas-phase species.

Is there any example (.inp) to map CAM-Chem output to the CBMZ-MOSAIC 8 bin scheme using mozbc.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Pramod Adhikari

Pramod,

When you download MOZBC, several example input files are provided
including one for CBMZ-MOSAIC 8-bin scheme. Does it not work for you?

I think the .inp files that download with the MOZBC are all for adapting the, no longer recommended, Mozart-4 model output.  I found this page useful for generating .inp files for CAM-chem model results: https://www2.acom.ucar.edu/sites/default/files/wrf-chem/CESM-WRFchem_aerosols_20190822.pdf.   It's focused on Mozart-Mosaic mechanisms but has some info on CBMZ species.

Hopefully this helps!

Hi Mary,
I believe the CBMZ-MOSAIC_8bins.inp provided with MOZBC is for MOZART-4, and as Alex indicated it is no longer recommended. I am looking for a CBMZ-MOSAIC_8bins.inp example if there is any for CAM-Chem which is recommended over MOZART-4.

Alex,
I am trying to understand and implement the information from the file you recommended, but I am not sure whether I am doing it correctly for CBMZ or not.

Thank you
