WRF-Chem lightning communications on this email list to start
using WRF-Chem for lightning-NOx emissions.
To just get lightning flash rate, you don't need the chemistry on. That is controlled in the physics and diagnostics of WRF. Please see the WRF namelist information.

The lightning option = 1 you chose is appropriate for dx<5km because it relies on the maximum updraft speed in the storm updraft. You chose dx=10km which will not produce updraft speeds representative of thunderstorms, and in fact the storms are likely represented by the convective parameterization.
For dx=10 km, you should use lightning_option = 11.
