Dear all,
I need to have fire emission for my simulation (WRF-chem-V.4.1).
I would like to use FINNv2.5. I read the following website:
to get more description about it, and also download some data from the below link
However, the data is in .nc format and not txt. So may I ask you please advise me on how can I access the right data ?
In addition, how can I make an appropriate .inp script to generate fire emission data?
Any help would be appreciated.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,

Gabriele Pfister

Hi

from the RDA link you provided you can access the .txt files that can be used with the fire_emiss tool. The MODIS&VIIRS FINN emissions are linked from the last entry:

Hello all,

Thanks for the information.
Are the txt files in this link ready to be used in fire_emiss tool ?

Thank you , Lin

Hello Lin

yes, the preprocessor should work fine on these files.

hello,

Can you please help me which inp mapping you are using?
Are the  Finn v2.5 emissions used ok to use for MOSAIC MOZART ?
 Thank you
Lin

Hello Lin

yes, you can use FINNv2.5 with our preprocessor and in WRF-Chem.

Hi there!

I am wondering if you  were able to successfully   use FINNv2.5 for your simulations?
I am having some mapping issues with the new   FINNv2.5 and the fire emis tool.
I could use some help if you have been able to use the new  FINNv2.5 dataset with WRF-Chem

Best, Prerita

Hi Prerita,
Website is correct. To download data in .txt-
  1. Select eachfire modisviirs: Global daily emissions for each file at 1 km resolution, the base and speciated VOCS based on MODISVIIRS data (txt.gz)

  2. Glade fire listing

  3. Select period and then download

This worked for me.

Best,
Suvarna
