zero emissions in finnv2.5 wrffirechemi

Dear all,

I am running finnv2.5 data downloaded from the rda link 

https://data.rda.ucar.edu/ds312.9/eachfire_modisviirs/FINNv2.5_modvrs_MOZART_2016_c20211213.txt.gz 

and used the mapping (inp attached).

But the emissions in wrffirechemi files are all 0.

Can you please tell me what might be wrong?

Hi Lin

are you positive there should be fires within your domain? And do you get any error messages when you run fire_emiss?

My wrffirechemi fires over Northern India show no emissions for any species after processing through the  fire_emiss processor executable from FINN2.5 MOZART data. 

Have you found a source of error yet?

Hi Gabi,

The inp files are too large and may need time to figure out in sharing. Is there a  way to share large files?

I am wondering does the new v2 files need the fire emis processor update as well? Since I see there are different options in .inp files now in other users.

I have the fire emis tool version from  2017. Is this updated ?

Hi Lin

please download the latest fire_emiss tool and try again. There have been numerous updates to the tool since 2017 and this very well could be the issue.
