Hi,

A question about the emis_map for running EPA_anthro_emis tool.
I am doing chemical speciation processing of EPA-2014v2 to the CBMZ-MOSAIC mechanism of wrf-chem. Since the EPA-2014v2 was generated from SMOKE modeling system, I wonder which chemical mechanism was used when running SMOKE? Or is there a ready emis_map for converting EPA-2014v2 to CBMZ-MOSAIC? Thanks.

Samuel,

the SMOKE emissions have been processed using the CB6r2 mechanism. Below I provide a suggested namelist file that could be used to map the EPA emissions to be used with either the MOZART-MOSAIC or the MOZCART_T1 options. Sorry, but we cannot help you with other chemistry options.

Hi Gabriele,

How did you determine how many kinds of anthropocentric emissions needed by specific chemical mechanism?
Taking the MOZCART as an example,
In the Registry/registry.chem, there're some species after "Anthropogenic emissions" and some species after "Additional MOZART emission variables".
You included all species after "Additional MOZART emission variables" but excluded many species after "Anthropogenic emissions", such as "E_HC3" ...

Could you help me with this problem when you are free?

Thanks,
Xin

Sam,

you should not look at the variable definition but at the chemical scheme definitions. E,g, towards the end of registry.chem you find for anthropogenic emissions:
#emission package definitions
which is followed by the list of species that are set for each emiss_opt.

Thanks, Gabriele.

Now, I understand how to map suitable species to chemical mechanism.
But, I couldn't find sulf from our emission data. Is it possible to convert other species to e_sulf?

Regards,
Xin
