Transition from chem_opt=112 to 203/204 (SAPRC99-MOSAIC)

Dear all,

I am planning to run WRF-Chem using the following chemistry options:

  • chem_opt = 203

  • chem_opt = 204
    (SAPRC99 chemistry with MOSAIC)

I already have an experiment set up for chem_opt = 112 (MOZART-GOCART), and I would like to understand the differences when switching to these schemes.

Specifically, I have the following questions:

  1. Namelist changes
    If I switch from chem_opt = 112 to chem_opt = 203/204, are there any fundamental changes required in the namelist.input, or only minor modifications?

  2. MOZBC and mapping
    I will attach my current namelist.input and MOZBC mapping file.
    Are there any key differences I should be aware of when using MOZBC with SAPRC99-MOSAIC compared to MOZART-GOCART?

  3. Anthropogenic emissions
    For generating anthropogenic emissions:

    • Can I use the MOZART-MOSAIC.inp file for this purpose?

    • Is the MOZBC setup the same as for chem_opt = 112, or does it require adjustments?

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the fundamental differences and required changes.
