Dear all,

I hope this email finds you well.I am working on a WRF-Chem simulation ( opt=202) for my study area. I have a local emission inventory for this area, but I am currently facing challenges in preparing the necessary emission files for use in the model.

Specifically, I need assistance with the following:

1. Understanding the steps required to map my inventory data onto the WRF-Chem domain grid.

2. Guidance on temporal and vertical allocation of emissions, as well as speciation for compatibility with the chemical mechanism in WRF-Chem.

3. Instructions or tools for converting the processed data into the required netCDF format for WRF-Chem, including the proper structure and variables.

I would greatly appreciate any advice, documentation, or tools that could assist me in this process. If there are any specific resources or examples tailored to working with local emission inventories, they would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your guidance.

Best regards,

S.Rahimi

Hi Setareh,

I am not sure I can give you advice other than that you have to reformat your local inventory to the WRF-Chem required format as used in the wrffirechemi* files. You could look at the anthro_emis code (https://www2.acom.ucar.edu/wrf-chem/wrf-chem-tools-community) as an example and see whether you can adapt that to work for your purpose.
In order to see the number of species for which anthropogenic emissions are needed you can look at the registry.chem for the respective chemistry mechanisms (look for emiss_opt entries).
