Hello everyone,

The Developmental Testbed Center (DTC) is pleased to announce that registration for the first Unified Forecast System (UFS) Medium Range Weather (MRW) Application training is now open! The MRW Application uses CCPP and targets predictions of global atmospheric behavior out to about two weeks; more details on the first release can be found at https://ufscommunity.org/news/medrangeweatherapp/.

The training will be a live, yet virtual, event held November 4-6, 2020 with an additional optional day on November 9, 2020 for developer-specific training. Lecture and hands-on practice sessions will be provided by subject matter experts (SMEs) from the DTC, NOAA's Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL), as well as NCAR's Climate and Global Dynamics (CGD).

The participation slots will be limited to 40 students in an effort to ensure quality instruction and as much one-on-one interaction during the practical sessions as possible. However, for interested parties who are unable to attend the live training, lectures and practice materials will be made available publicly after the event.

Please see the UFS MRW Application Users' Training event page (https://dtcenter.org/events/2020/unified-forecast-system-ufs-medium-range-weather-mrw-application-users-training) for more information and to register!

Regards,
UFS MRW App Training Team
