The Lou Hyndman Edmonton Glenora Award is valued at $20,000 over two years and was established in 1986 in recognition of the substantial commitments and contributions of The Honourable Chancellor Lou Hyndman (’56 BA, ’59 LLB) to the province. His connections and support to the University of Alberta run deep – as a student he served as president of the SU, and later in life in the role of Chancellor. The Honourable Chancellor Lou Hyndman served in the Alberta Legislative Assembly from 1967 to 1986 and was active in charitable and educational organizations. While in government, he held the portfolios of Minister of Education, Minister of Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs, Government House Leader and Provincial Treasurer. He was appointed to the Order of Canada in 1993 in recognition of his public service and philanthropy.  

Requirements:
-satisfactory academic standing on a minimum 24 credits
-student must be entering their second last year of study in Fall 2020
-selection will be based on demonstrated leadership through involvement and participation in university or community organizations, sports activities, cultural or political activities and academic standing

-By filling out the Undergraduate Academic Scholarships and Undergraduate Leadership Awards application in Bear Tracks by May 15, 2020.
