2024 Cybersecurity Summit Tackles AI, Risks, Compliance, and Framework adoption
Trusted CI hosted 170 in-person and 96 remote attendees, including 18 students and 15 attendees
from the Minority Serving-Cyberinfrastructure Community (MS-CC), at the 2024 Cybersecurity
Summit held at Carnegie Mellon University, October 7-10 in Pittsburgh, PA. In a follow-up
survey of 71 respondents, 68 rated their overall experience as Excellent or Good. In addition to
learning about research cybersecurity solutions, attendees enjoyed a jam night at Hop Farm
Brewing and a networking reception at the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History.

Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Receives Five-Year, $6M/Year Award From NSF
The U.S. National Science Foundation has awarded Trusted CI, the NSF Cybersecurity Center of
Excellence, a five-year, $6 million per-year award to run through September 2029. Lawrence
Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) will now serve as Trusted CI’s central steward.
The cornerstone of the center is the Trusted CI Framework, which guides research institutions in
launching and maintaining cybersecurity programs.
Take National AI Research Resource Survey
NAIRR invites you to participate in a survey that will directly shape the design and development
of the NAIRR Portal, a central hub connecting researchers, educators, and students with critical
AI resources. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes, and all responses will be
anonymized and reported in aggregate to the NSF.
