We are proud to introduce the 2026 Trusted CI Scholars, a group of talented undergraduate and graduate students committed to securing our digital future: Bennie Ferguson, Simon Araneda, Nolan Koch, Waratchaya Luangphairin, and Jessica Wooley.

The Trusted CI Scholars Program is more than just a training initiative; it is a gateway for emerging cybersecurity professionals to immerse themselves in the frontlines of digital defense. By providing hands-on experience and direct mentorship from the nation’s leading cybersecurity experts, we aim to equip these students with the tools necessary to build a secure and resilient digital ecosystem.

Please join us in welcoming our  2026 Trusted CI Scholars.

From May through October, our scholars will engage in a rigorous curriculum designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. The program includes bi-monthly webinars led by cybersecurity experts, along with opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and applied learning.

Thank you on behalf of the Trusted CI

Join us in welcoming a sixth Scholar, Rylee Au. Rylee recently graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and is now an operations research analyst officer. She is currently pursuing her master's degree at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Computer Science with a track in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

She interned with the National Reconnaissance Office, where she analyzed geopolitical trends and developed analytical frameworks to improve data retrieval and intelligence workflows. These experiences strengthened her interest in cybersecurity, national security, and the challenge of turning large, complex datasets into actionable insights. Through her academic studies and research, Rylee has worked with 3D printing, machine learning, automatic target recognition, data analytics, statistical modeling, and database systems.

She was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, and in her free time, enjoys surfing, going to the beach, reading, hiking, and working out.

We are excited to have her join the program and look forward to the perspectives she will bring.
