Trusted CI Hosts the First Regional Cybersecurity Summit at the University of Alabama
Last month, Trusted CI partnered with the University of Alabama to host the first
Regional Cybersecurity Summit in Tuscaloosa. The
two-day agenda (April
21st - 22nd) was modeled off our Annual Summit,
with a focus on inviting a group of attendees located in the southeastern region of the US.
The two days of content were split between workshops and a poster session on day 1, and a plenary session of talks and panel discussions on day 2. Highlights on day 1 include training sessions on: security log analysis, Zeek
network security monitoring software, software security, security tabletop exercises, quantum machine learning, and a
Scholarship for Service panel. The day ended with a welcome reception and poster
session.
The plenary talks on day 2 were broken into blocks on upcoming research security requirements, the impact of AI on cybersecurity, current research in HPC cybersecurity as well as its intersection with NIST compliance, and concluded with a scientific software
cybersecurity roundtable discussion.
During one of the breaks, some of the UA HPC staff got a chance to share photos of
the new High Performance Computing and Data Center scheduled
to open in 2027.
Trusted CI extends our sincere thanks to our partners at the University of Alabama, Drs. Purushotham Bangalore and Shahram Rahimi; the events staff at the Bryant Conference Center, and all the presenters and trainers who traveled to Tuscaloosa, or presented
remotely, to support the Regional Summit.
Trusted CI is now planning for our next Regional Summit in 2027. If you're interested in hosting, please respond to
our survey!
