Next Wednesday’s (6/10) RRCoP Webinar (2 pm ET / 11 am PT) introduces two complementary NSF-funded initiatives that many of us have heard mentioned over the last year but may not know when or how to engage with: The SECURE Center and SECURE Analytics.
Together, NSF has invested approximately $75 million into these efforts to help institutions navigate research security challenges, understand emerging risks, and make more informed decisions. This session is an opportunity to hear directly from the leaders of both initiatives, learn what they are building, what resources are available today, and how institutions can engage with them moving forward.

Strengthening Research Security: Introducing NSF’s SECURE Center & SECURE Analytics
Training Topic
Presented By: Dr. Lisa Nichols, SECURE Center Deputy Director and Dr. Kevin Gamache, Director, SECURE Analytics
This session provides an overview of the National Science Foundation’s SECURE Center and SECURE Analytics initiatives, highlighting their role in advancing research security, risk awareness, and data-informed decision-making across the research ecosystem. Attendees will gain insight into available tools, resources, and collaborative opportunities designed to support institutions in identifying and mitigating security risks while maintaining an open and innovative research environment.
NSF SECURE (Safeguarding the Entire Community in the U.S. Research Ecosystem) Center has been built for academic institutions, non-profit research centers, and small and medium businesses to meet the challenge of securing U.S. innovation while maintaining a vibrant and open research ecosystem.
NSF SECURE Analytics engages in four core areas of work, all focused on helping universities, research organizations, businesses, and national laboratories make more informed decisions about research security:
