to Troop 233
As was discussed at PLC and Committee meeting last night, due to lack of parental support and soso scout participation in events, we are looking to merge with another troop to be able to continue to offer the active scouts a quality program. On April 29th we will use our regular troop meeting time to attend the troop meeting of Troop 161. The point of this is for the scouts to met the current members of that troop and for parents (yeah, you need to go too) to meet the leaders and for all to see if this is a good fit for your scout. The hope is that all(or most) will find this a good fit, and we will move the troop over more or less intact. Of course, andone can do whatever they feel is best.  The plan is still in flux, but if this works out, we envision joint activities starting most likely in June The May campout at Krausee Springs and summer camp are still on and remain unchanged. Other than the 29th, all meetings will continue as planned. You can find information about troop 161 on their website https://www.troopwebhost.org/Troop161Leander/Index.htm Meetings for 161 are held at the Leander Unitrd Methodist Church, just a couple miles down the road from the VFW.  Happy to answer any questions.

I’m sorry I couldn’t be there but I believe this is a good move for everyone and especially the kids future.

We will all be sad to see you go Steve, but you have more than dedicated yourself and proven to being a very positive role model to more than you know. Now it’s time for you and your family to enjoy each other without the added stress.

don’t know if others take into account that your son aged out I think 3 maybe 4 years ago and you have stayed with us even then. Not only that the countless hours that are put into the tasks and the many hats you wear are all charitable contributions that all take someone of your character to possess. I applaud you for your dedication and more than honored to have you as a friend.

Thank you!!

Ditto 100%!  Very grateful for everything you do and have done for this Troop!

We are very lucky to have had you as long as we have.

I appreciate the kind words, and to be clear, if the troop merges with 161 I plan on doing so as well, just not as Scoutmaster, but will still be around on occasion. There are a few more Eagle ceremonies I plan on attending.
