We have SIMS in our international school and it is bleeding awful! It's impossible to get any useable data and clunky.
I'm sure there is something less insane to work with and is more teacher and student friendly.
Any suggestions?
I will look at suggestions at BETT if they're there.

Thanks

There seems to be quite a move to Arbor here in the UK. At Bett, they are usually in the bar outside the main entrance so you could get your lunch too!

This is a bit of a can or worms and everyone will have their opinion. We switched out secondaries from SIMS to Bromcom last year. Seems to work well for the most part and allows us to do a load of things SIMS never made easy. There are a number of new comers to MISs in the UK along with the big one - SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, Integris, iSAMS, EDgen and so on.

Changing MIS is not technically hard - the hard bit is bringing along all the staff with you - especially support staff. One year in and I've just about got over the experience.....

My simple answer would be any MIS you pick would be better than SIMS!

Arbor is popular with Schools using Google because it has some Google Integration (including data out to sheets & looker studio) - but it's definitely more UK School rather than International School focused - where I tend to see iSAMS more..

I'd shop around at BETT...

We moved to Arbor and it has been really good from the front end for classroom teachers. Whatever you choose, make sure your procurement process is solid.

I remember SIMS from working in high schools, it crashed all the time especially during reports season. Every place I’ve been at since uses EBS/on track it seems to do the job but there’s definitely some oddities about it.
I think we might be making it more complicated than it needs to be. My guess is ebs works great when staff are properly trained on it
