Hello everyone,

my name is Antonio Beraldi, and I’m writing on behalf of Leila Bologna – the Library of Things APS, based in Italy.
Leila has been active since 2016 and started as one of the first Libraries of Things in the country, deeply rooted in a community-based and citizen-driven approach.

Building on nearly ten years of hands-on experience, we developed a digital platform to support the daily management of Libraries of Things. This platform has enabled the creation and coordination of the Italian national network of Libraries of Things, now involving multiple active initiatives across the country.

The platform (LEILA APP) is a paid SaaS solution designed to manage all core functionalities of a Library of Things: catalog, users, memberships, bookings, loans, returns, reporting and impact data. It also includes a web app for end users.

Our model is strongly based on the responsibilization of citizens. Members are not just users, but active participants in the care, circulation and sustainability of shared objects. We believe that the long-term success of Libraries of Things depends not only on operational efficiency, but on trust, shared responsibility and cultural change.

I’m very happy to join this group and to exchange experiences, questions and practices with Libraries.

Best regards

Antonio
