Hi
with The Nature Coast Alliance – protecting our landscape and heritage
Dear Coastwatchers Members, Supporters and Forest Friends
– the working group convened by Coastwatchers to examine the ESC Rural Lands Strategy Proposal now on exhibition by Eurobodalla Shire Council and receiving submissions until 22 June 2018 (but we are still seeking more time) is deeply flawed. It is a threat to nature, our landscape – forests, wetlands, wildlife & water supplies – and the future social and economic fabric of the Shire as ultimately it will damage many important industries including tourism and recreation, oysters, fishing, grazing and farming.
We ask that you widely circulate the attached one page submission guide letter and ask everyone in your community and personal networks to further circulate it in their networks – ask everyone to sign the letter and send to ESC, either email to cou...@esc.nsw.gov.au or mail to PO Box 99, Moruya 2537.
Please put the guide letter and the Submission Summary on your website and Facebook page and ask your members to also facebook the letter to all their friends who live in Eurobodalla or holiday here.
We hope that each community group will make a more detailed submission picking up various points in the Submission Summary but calling on Council to withdraw this Proposal and review it together with expert State agencies and a genuine community advisory panel that is truly representative of the broad community, including several people with wide nature conservation experience. This position allows us all the broad shelter and positive message of The Nature Coast Alliance – protecting our landscape and heritage
Best wishes
