Great News, we now have the room rate, the reservation link, and phone numbers to call to make your room reservations for the 2024 Texas CPAAA Convention & Law Enforcement Training conference hosted by Region One.
- Convention Dates: Sunday June 23, 2024 – Wednesday June 26, 2024 – Please make your reservation for 6/23/24 – 6/27/24 CHECK-OUT is Thursday AM.
- Room Rate: $99 a night + taxes
- Location: South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center - 2500 South Shore Blvd, League City, TX 77573
- Call Reservations: 281-334-1000 or 800 442-5005 and ask for “Group Reservations” give them the Group Name- “TCPAAA” for the special rate.
- Special Rate will also apply to 1 day before the convention starts. Be aware of the dates you select when making reservations online, please.

Be sure you are aware of the deadlines listed below. Have you registered? Have you made your hotel room reservations?
- June 1, 2024 - Registration deadline is 12 days away or there is a $50 late fee.

- May 27, 2024 - Hotel Reservations deadline to receive the special convention rate.
Special Note: KING beds are no longer available, the only rooms available are 2 Queen beds. If you ask for a King Room their response will be they are booked for those dates. They will not offer 2 a Queen Room, so please make your reservations accordingly.

- Convention Class Schedule – attached (note we are awaiting one speaker confirmation).
- Registration Check-in – On Sunday at 1:00pm Registration Check-in you will receive your registration bag, lanyard w/name badge and your meal tickets will be in your name badge pouch. Please remember you must wear your name badge for all Classes and have your meal tickets for all meals. Your name badge is not needed at the Awards Banquet just your meal ticket please.
- Rookie Orientation on Sunday June 23 @ 4:00pm – 1ST Time Attendees to the Texas CPAAA Convention, please join us in the Amphitheater we have info to share!
- Dress Attire – Wednesday evening Awards Banquet, this is not a formal event but it is not shorts and t-shirts please. Business casual, or your “Sunday Best” would be preferred.
- Delegates Meeting/Alternate Delegate Form - This form is used if the Alumni sworn rep (law enforcement) is unable to attend the Convention Delegates meeting, please read the details on the TCPAAA website AlternateConventionDelegate.pdf (texascpaaa.net) Have the form signed by the sworn officer bring it with you to the convention. For those that do not know what a Delegates Meeting is, see attached doc.
- Attention Law Enforcement – Region One and the Texas CPAAA invites you to wear your uniform to Opening Ceremonies Monday morning. We would appreciate this opportunity to honor each of you at “The Wall of Honor”. Some of you have participated in this at previous Conventions, for those that have not you will gather outside of the Crystal Ballroom where you will meet DPS Sgt. Standifer, he will line everyone up to enter the ballroom together to stand along the walls of the ballroom. There is a short presentation to show our support to you and all law enforcement, then you can be seated for the remainder of Opening Ceremonies. Even if you decide not to bring your uniform please know we still invite you to be on that wall, please. Thank you!
- TCOLE Credit - for those that have attended the conventions previously, we want you to be aware that the process for filing TCOLE has changed when Mr. Vickers, TCOLE Executive Director retired. You still receive your hours if you attend classes, it’s just done electronically thanks to Lt. McCurley with League City PD, Training will file your credits for you. Per the Lt., the process this year will be; we will have all those requesting TCOLE credit use a QR code on day 1 to get them in our system. Then at the end of each session they will get a QR code from the instructor to complete. We will download all of that each day and will track which sessions each TCOLE attendee went to over the three days. There is an eval tied to each QR code as well.

Great News, we have the convention room rate, the reservation link, and phone numbers to call to make your room reservations for the 2025 Texas CPAAA Convention & Law Enforcement Training conference hosted by Waco CPAAA. It’s never too earlier to get your registration completed as well, registration form attached or register online: https://texascpaaa.org/
Please note, all convention classes, meals, exhibit hall are at the Waco Convention Center, not the hotel(s). The Hospitality Suite after class time, will be in the Hilton Hotel. Members that have attend one of the other four conventions hosted by the Waco CPAAA, you are aware the Convention Center is next door to both of these two hotels, the Hilton Waco and the Marriott Courtyard Waco.
Due to the size of our attendance we use both hotels, same cost but different information to make your room reservations. Reservations must be made by June 13, 2025.

Attention Law Enforcement: if you attended the 2024 convention in League City, then you know the TCOLE process was not our standard flow, we apologize. However, when Executive Director Kim Vickers retired our previous process could no longer be used. Tomorrow, Officer James Plant (Kyle PD) and I have and appointment in Austin with the new Executive Director Gregory Stevens to meet him to ask for his approval to go back to our original filing for your TCOLE credits. We hope to keep each of you attending our conventions, it makes all of these alumni members feel their support and dedication to you and law enforcement all over Texas is important. We’ll keep you updated on the meeting.

Award Nominations
- Deadline May 16, 2025 - Awards Nominations Packet attached
Please note on every form: “No more than five (5) pages of documentation (letters, photos, etc.) may accompany this form”. This means the cover sheet + 5 additional pages, If you submit more than 5 pages, your nomination is disqualified. Don’t wait, get those nominations in the mail!
***SPECIAL NOTE***: We will accept submittals via email by the DUE DATE, but you are required to send by US mail postmarked within 5 business days of the due date. If not received your submittal will not be considered.
Attention Law Enforcement: as mentioned in a previous email we went to Austin and meet with the new TCOLE Executive Director Greg Stevens. He has given his approval for Law Enforcement to receive TCOLE credit for the classes you attend, he will be attending the convention this year as well. He has asked that the Texas CPAAA supply you with a Certificate of the hours you are to be credited for and you will need to take that to your respective PD’s (agencies) training department to file for your credit, the host city no longer will file for each of you. We will continue to have sign-in/sign-out forms and evaluation form (per classroom) and the Certificates will be emailed to you after the convention ends.

Greetings to all! Wow, Convention is only 37 days away! Are you ready?

- June 6, 2025 – Registration deadline is 8 days away or there is a $50 late fee. You are able to register at the convention however the late fee will apply as well.

- June 12, 2025 - Hotel Reservations deadline to receive the special convention rate. If you wait we cannot guarantee you will have a room or the special rate and be careful not to wait until the room block is filled you.
Note: Hilton Hotel is booked, rooms available only at the Courtyard Marriott. Contact information is on the registration form and online.
Remember classes and meals are all at the Waco Convention Center (not in the hotel)

- Rookie Orientation on Sunday July 6 @ 4:00pm – 1ST Time Attendees to the Texas CPAAA Convention, please join us in the BRAZOS Ballroom (in the Convention Center) we have info to share!
- Dress Attire – Wednesday evening Awards Banquet, is Western theme, you are welcome to wear your jeans and boots etc.

The TCOLE Executive Director, Greg Stevens, has asked that we continue to have sign-In and Sign-Out forms along with a very short survey per class you attend. The Texas CPAAA will accumulate your hours and email you a Certificate that you can turn into your own Training Department at your agency to file for your credit. We will ensure that you have the documentation you need.
